Takasugi Satomi appeared for the first time with the avex idol girls band wi☆th. In December 2006, she made her solo debut at the first edition of avex's Rhythm Nation event. In June of the following year, she released her debut maxi-single Tabibito. The song was used in the movie “Saiyuki” (Journey to the West), giving her an impressive start which was described as visually attractive due to the traditional Japanese look.
Within that same year, Takasugi Satomi won several national awards: two for best newcomer and another for best new artist. From that point on, her career quickly advanced. In the summer she appeared on stage during the a-nation’07 tour as a newcomer. She also released two new maxi-singles at the end of 2007.
In the new year, her first album, garden, became available in music stores and she recorded the duet single Mahou no kagi ~The Dream Goes On with Ishii Tatsuya to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Disney resort in Tokyo. A number of maxi-singles were also release throughout 2008, some of which were used as theme songs in video games and movies. Takasugi Satomi also held a number of small concerts, the footage of which can be found on the bonus DVDs of some of her releases.

In 2010, Takasugi Satomi spent a lot of time recording the PVs and songs Sakurairo, NOW! and Futatsu no sora, all of which were released digitally. She also modelled for the website fashionwalker.com. On February 13th, Takasugi Satomi held a mini live for her fans. Despite her packed schedule, she found time to record her third album, MASCARA, which was released at the end of May and was accompanied by a few lives in Tokyo, Yokohama and the surrounding area.
During the summer she participated in several multi-band events with artists such as hitomi, My Little Lover and TRF. She ended the year with her Takasugi Satomi Christmas Special live on December 23rd.
On February 12th, Takasugi Satomi kicked off 2011 with her Premium Live ~My Favorite Songs~ Vol. 1. This was followed by the second edition of Favorite Songs at the beginning of April, and a performance at Temi Fes 2011 alongside Dream5 on August 17th.
It was a while before Takasugi Satomi released anything new. Her next release was the maxi-single Kimagure Dolce, which came out on March 21, 2012. Unfortunately this release was only accompanied by a single in-store event and since then things have become very calm once again.
Takasugi Satomi has quickly grown in the Japanese music industry and we're curious to see how her career will continue in the future.
