Korean top idols and Samsung? A really amazing development.
Samsung truly knows how to make their appearance appealing. Original advertisements for their Anycall series were started with Lee Hyori accompanied by Hallyu superstar Lee Junki, young face of YG Entertainment Park Bom, Eric (Shinhwa) and many others... Starring first row Korean idols, the Samsung Anycall series captures the hearts of the audience 5-0 any day.
One of the most talked about advertisement series, the Anyband was formed with fours members. This time TVXQ's Xiah Junsu, BoA, Epik High's Tablo and young jazz pianist Jin Bora are in the spotlight. Anyband produced a single whose first version included two songs with their instrumental versions. The first song on the single is TPL (Talk, Play, Love), which starts with light piano sounds and BoA joins in. The beat is very smooth with beautiful piano parts and Tablo's skillful rapping parts. To all this Xiah Junsu brings the real TVXQ harmony - listening carefully you can just close your eyes and enjoy the harmony Xiah brings with his soft voice. All three singers have their small solo parts and Jin Bora her piano solo. A very beautiful and energetic song with some real quality.
At the beginning of second song Promise U both BoA and Xiah have their solo parts and they'll get to complete the song together. Both of them are very skillful singers and Tablo's rapping brings some nice colour to the track. Promise U is a bit more laid back than TPL (Talk, Play, Love). Both songs are well written and the choice of performers was extremely well made. The single includes instrumental versions for both songs, which are must hears! Pianist Jin Bora is really talented and one can hear her playing better in the instrumental versions when BoA and Xiah don't drown the piano out under their voices.
As a Finn I don't need to think twice as to why Nokia seems not to appeal to Koreans. This is something one can call really good promotion, à la Samsung.
