As both a member of the girl group Sugar and as a solo performer, Ayumi has shown an unashamed pop mentality. All her singles to date have been up tempo pop numbers which have gone down well in her native South Korea.
Despite drawing comparisons to Ayumi Hamasaki, often to the point of confusion, she has proven that she can hold her own in the world of pop without the need for a group.
