Two new hide tribute albums are set for release on December 18th.
The former X JAPAN guitarist and solo musician hide has been honoured several times since his death with tributes from artists across a variety of genres who have admired and been influenced by his work. The first such album, hide TRIBUTE SPIRITS came out back in 1999 and included cover songs by contributors such as BUCK-TICK and LUNA SEA. This year, four 'sequels' to this album have already been released: hide TRIBUTE II -Visual SPIRITS-, hide TRIBUTE III -Visual SPIRITS-, hide TRIBUTE IV -Classical SPIRITS- and hide TRIBUTE Ⅴ-PSYBORG ROCK SPIRITS- ～CLUB PSYENCE MIX～.
Now, two more albums in the TRIBUTE SPIRITS series have been revealed, titled hide TRIBUTE VI -Female SPIRITS- and hide TRIBUTE VII -Rock SPIRITS-. -Female SPIRITS- will contain ten of hide's songs covered by female artists, including Aoyama Thelma, Koda Kumi and Wakeshima Kanon, while -Rock SPIRITS will contain eleven songs with contributors including D'ERLANGER, GLAY and THE NOVEMBERS.
