Kari BAND's "Nimaime" Gets International Digital Release
Instrumental rock duo Kari BAND's recent mini-album, which features tributes to the late Mikio Fujioka, is now available outside Japan and Korea via JPU Records.
As previously reported, instrumental rock duo Kari BAND released a new mini-album on January 29th.
Nimaime - which simply means "second piece" in English - is available to download and stream outside Japan and Korea, courtesy of British label JPU Records. Its six songs include a couple of subtle tributes to the late Mikio Fujioka, the guitarist with whom bassist BOH and drummer Yuya Maeta co-founded Kari BAND in 2017.
BOH has said he "didn’t dare add guitar" to I See You, which features LIV MOON co-founder Tatsuya Nishiwaki on harmonica, feeling obliged to "leave space for Fujioka to join us." Elsewhere, the guitar phrasing in Samurai Groove is based on a phrase Fujioka worked on before his death. It has been faithfully reproduced by his former student Satoshi Oka.
