The idea for Shelly Trip Realize began in early 2003. Vocalist Sarino (ex-Aioria) approached Kreis label owner Yukiya (JILS) and stated that he wished to start a new band. Yukiya agreed to produce this band and together they came up with the name Shelly Trip Realize. After recruiting Mai (ex-As'REAL) on guitar, Kikasa (ex-Due'le quartz) on bass, and Shion (ex-Syndrome) on drums, the quartet set off to take over the music scene.
The band had an almost unfair advantage with the fact that all of its members had been in previous, somewhat well-known, bands so many fans simply "transferred" over to Shelly Trip Realize. With each member coming from a different aspect of the music scene, fans were eager to see what kind of music this new band would create. Instead of the electronic or visual sound that was expected, they surprised everyone with their cute and upbeat sounds.
Their very first live performance was at one of the Kreis label's events at Shibuya AX on March 31, 2003. Their first single, Lie!!, was available at their first one-man at Shinjuku LOFT on May 18th. Two more singles and one-man performances followed. A special single, Night Party, was distributed during one of the aforementioned lives. The band started gaining substantial success with their Feel single, which ranked high on the Oricon Indie Chart as would many of their subsequent releases.
Not slowing down in the slightest, they released their first single of 2004 in February with another single following just days later. They participated in many indie events and tours and in August, a summer single called Dive! was released.
In 2005, they teamed up with An Cafe to form the unit Shelly Tic -Cafe-. As this unit, they released a coupling single, Yokoso, and together, as well as individually, they performed the single's title track and the bands covered songs by each other (Kiss for An Cafe and Odoru Märchen Tokei for Shelly Trip Realize). Their coupling single was wildly popular and is nearly impossible to find anywhere today.
However, just as things were starting to look up, Kikasa announced that he wished to leave the band. He was later contacted by former Due'le quartz vocalist and bandmate Sakito and together they began the short-lived group [FIGURe;].
In the mean time, Shelly Trip Realize was supported by a young bassist by the name of Yusuke, who is now their official bassist. However, those weren't the only changes as Mai decided to change his name to Kenta and Shion became Takuma.
Their first release with the new lineup was the single Pt. Valentine. This was followed by their first mini album and many more Kreis label events and one-man lives.
At the end of 2006, the band told their fans to look forward to an important announcement, which worried some due to the name of the live the announcement was to be made at. On December 10th, at their one-man show, ~An end would be the beginning~, all fears were put to rest when the band announced that they were simply changing their name to TINC.
