NATCHIN

NATCHIN

After his previous band SIAM SHADE disbanded in 2002, bassist NATIN, like the other members, decided to start a solo career. As he was not particularly confident in his singing ability at first, NATIN practiced extensively until he felt comfortable enough to show his voice off to the public. After changing his name to NATCHIN, he released his first solo album in March 2003. He also started touring and opened his official site the following month. In June, he played bass for a few dates of one of Nanase Aikawa’s tours.

In August, he released his second album, STAND, and performed several more solo lives. He performed with Nanase Aikawa again in 2004, this time staying for her entire tour. Although NATCHIN held occasional solo lives, he mostly stayed out of the spotlight until Christmas, when he held a special live. He then decided to take a longer break that lasted for around eight months. He reappeared in August to hold a successful concert with Koji Kikkawa.

NATCHIN continued to perform as a solo artist and held sporadic lives with Kikkawa before joining ANCHANG of SEX MACHINEGUNS as his support bassist. He played on ANCHANG’s solo tour from March 14 to April 28, 2007.

On November 18, 2007, SIAM SHADE held a reunion live at the Budoukan in memory of their manager, who had believed passionately in the band and had passed away earlier that year.

In 2008, NATCHIN formed BIG BITES with ANCHANG and Annie from THE YELLOW MONKEY. He and Annie had met while performing as support members for Koji Kikkawa. BIG BITES have since put out a variety of releases and toured extensively. Their first one-man tour, KISS ME BABY, took place in September and October 2010.

SIAM SHADE reunited once again for a free live on July 17, 2011, to raise the spirits of victims of the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, and then again on October 21 for a concert at Saitama Super Arena. While NATCHIN has been fairly committed to BIG BITES since the band’s formation, he still occasionally finds time to appear with other artists, such as Nanase Aikawa.

NATCHIN is currently focusing on BIG BITES with live shows and occasional releases. Perhaps he will return to producing new music under his own name in the future, but it remains to be seen.
