The band released a demo tape called wade, which was limited to just 1000 copies and available through mail order, in May. The band's first actual demo, Lazy mind, was released on August 2nd, when they also performed at Osaka Nishikujo Brand New. In December NATSU quit and KENJI joined as a session drummer. Later on, NATSU was seen in different kinds of bands, like CRUNCH and LIQUID.

Early in 2000, KENJI was appointed the official drummer at the band's Shinsaibashi Club Quattro performance on February 9th and their second demo tape, Lime, was released February on 26th. wyse's first tour, Onsoku no kikoushi Mihae Ruirui ga iku! It wasn't long until wyse announced that they were going major, signed to East West Japan (Warner Music). Their first major release was an album, the Answer in the Answers, which came out December on 12th. To conclude the year, they toured again.

The band's first major single, Perfume, was released in March 13th and, on the 30th, they began launched a tour to promote the release. Like Perfume, wyse's next single, Bring you my heart, release on May 29th, showed off the band's more peaceful side.
