Born out of the desire to create catchy melodies and finger breaking riffs, the band was formed during April of 1999 under the name Neckhunt Restaurant.Shimpei, Tadashi, and Tohru are the core members, later joined by Kai on January of 2001 to solidify the line-up. The early years were spent establishing themselves in Tokyo with live performances and demo recordings which resulted in the demo CD Rain Brings Hope in March 2004. Along with the release of the demo, their name was changed to MYPROOF.

Their debut release in 2005, Shining Stardust on the Hong Kong label Gods Child Music, showed their fresh ideas to the claustrophobic melodic metalcore genre gave them a solid fan base in and outside of Japan. Their following release at Gods Child Music, the 2006 album Reason for my justice, displayed their maturity as individual musicians and as great songwriters. Surprisingly, this well-received album was recorded in the band members' home studio. Following the release of their album, the band toured in various Asian countries.

In May 2006, they released a split EP with the popular Korean metal core band Vassline. They continued their overseas activities by participating in a compilation CD released by the Thai label I Scream Music in July, 2007, which triggered attention from Thailand. In Japan, they set up their own label, AKASHI inc., and released their first mini album, The Sky Of Destiny, in December.

In January 2008, The Sky Of Destiny was released in Thailand, and the release was accompanied by a tour in the country as well, which spread their fame further. In August, the band returned for a tour in Thailand, and also performed in Malaysia. They received a lot of attention as they co-starred in a tour with the internationally known German metal core band Caliban. After returning to Japan, they recorded the album Pupil of Astraea, which came out in December 2008.

MYPROOF has certainly stepped beyond the boundaries of music and physical borders. The band has been receiving a lot of support from metalcore fans and labels from various countries all over the world who are impressed with their high quality music and overwhelming performances.
