Luzmelt was a young visual kei band that quickly gained attention overseas due to performances in the United States and Europe.
Even though Luzmelt was formed at the end of 2009, the band did not debut until February 2010, when they held a one-man concert called supernova explosion. They soon signed to Starwave Records, a label run by BLOOD guitarist/leader Kiwamu, on which they released their first mini-album swallowed scenery on February 24th.
Their second mini-album Luz-destination followed in March and in May the band released their first maxi-single, sacrifice, which was accompanied by their first PV. In April, the young quintet was invited to perform at the American anime convention Tekkoshocon VIII.
After this speedy start, Luzmelt ran into some trouble as drummer miu and bassist zig decided to leave the band at the end of May. Luzmelt pressed on, however, supported by ex-DEPAIN bassist Haren and U-YA on drums.
Despite being such a young band, Luzmelt were invited to perform in Europe in the summer of 2010. Together with the fool they performed at the two editions of the Jap-Ro event, which took place in Germany and the Netherlands respectively, and gained many new fans.
Unfortunately, in early 2012 Luzmelt announced that after discussing the future of the band, the members all agreed that the best course of action would be to disband. Luzmelt officially disbanded after their concert at Shibuya BOXX on February 10th.
