Para:noir was created in summer 2009 and is composed of experienced members within the visual kei scene. The first song the band released, Merciless sorrow, was sold as a CD/PV combo during the live event Gott ist tot vol.1 at Takadanobaba AREA.
The brand-new band launched a three maxi-single release campaign with THE VIRTUES in December, A forlorn hope in April and blindness MARIA in August. This was a countdown for their first one-man, Paranoid Personality which was held at Shibuya RUIDO K2 three days after the last release. During this event, they also give away their new song PROMINENCE inc.. Despite it being a joyous event, it also marked sorrow as it was the date of Iro's departure, who decided to leave the visual kei scene. However, Yukino joined the band soon after to replace him.
In 2011, Para:noir appeared on the compilation EXPLOSION SHOWCASE which was released in February with their new song Re:gret. Their first mini-album the RED in the monochrome was then announced for December, followed by two consecutive single releases, identity and paradox. These singles preceded paradoxical identity, the second one-man of the band which was held on March 25th 2011 at Shibuya BOXX.
