A group of ninjas who combat the forces of evil with a mix of action-packed comedic skits and energetic rock music, NINJAMAN JAPAN is truly a one-of-a-kind act in the visual kei scene.
NINJAMAN JAPAN began to draw attention soon after its formation due to its experienced line up, which, at the time, included former TINC vocalist Sarino, Dacco guitarist Lida, former DragonWRAPPPPPPER guitarist nono, bassist Metal and ex-GAM drummer Aki. Together, they began activities in 2009, releasing a DVD in collaboration with a visual kei magazine. They quickly gained momentum, performing a few one-man lives and a show at the V-ROCK FESTIVAL that year.
While 2010 saw the release of their first mini-album, Shinobi, Aki also left the band that year. However, he was soon replaced by Pinky from PLUNKLOCK. The next year saw them take part in the V-ROCK Disney omnibus, covering When You Wish Upon a Star from “Pinocchio.”
Unfortunately, guitarist Nono left the band in early 2012, and DAISHI from [MU:] began playing with the group as a support member. He joined just in time to travel overseas with the band for their first European show at London J-culture event HYPER JAPAN that November, and was officially welcomed into the band in January 2013.
So far, 2013 has been another exciting year for NINJAMAN JAPAN. They released the double A-side single Raijin / Hanamuke in March and returned to Europe to perform two shows at Paris convention Japan Expo this July. Sadly, Pinky left NINJAMAN JAPAN shortly before that performance, and the band was joined by former support drummer Dewey, who they welcomed as an official member during a concert on June 12th.
While NINJAMAN JAPAN has undergone a number of line up changes over the years, it is clear that their ambition and devotion to their concept remain strong, and the future looks bright for this unique group.
