Listeners should try not to link REDMAN and girugamesh together, even though the vocalist, Satoshi, is in both bands. REDMAN brings a new kind of shine into the alternative rock scene, forging a clear path into listeners' minds.
REDMAN was born in September 2013. The line-up was kept secret at first, but they had revealed a promo picture with the members' faces hidden. It didn't take long for the line-up to be formally announced, however. The vocalist was revealed to be Ishikawa Satoshi, who many will recognize as the frontman of girugamesh, and he was accompanied by former SPLAY guitarist Sonoki Rihito, towalens guitarist Sugihara Ryou and bassist Yoshioka Souichirou, and drummer Ookuma Keito, whose previous band was THE HEROES SYNDICATE.
Only about a week after the band's formation, REDMAN held their first concert at Nagoya ell.FITS ALL on the 28th of September. During this show they revealed details about their first single, Challenge the GAME, which was released in November. The title track went on to be used as the ending theme of the anime "Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL II", quickly exposing their music to an even wider audience.
The mini-album FLAME OF LIFE was announced in December, and it hit stores on February 26th. The band will hold at least three lives in March 2014, and their alternative rock sound shouldn't be missed, as they have already established their own fresh take on this style with just a couple of releases.
