STARMARIE - Mekurumeku yuuki!

Fantasy-loving idol band STARMARIE released Mekurumeku yuuki!, their 10th single, on August 19th, 2015 in four versions. As the title song was used as the ending theme of the anime series "Card Fight!! Vanguard G", a PR card and an item code were included as extras in the single. In the end, it doesn't matter which of the four versions you fall for because all of them feature the same four tracks. And into these JaME took a closer listen.

Fitting to the series, the lyrics of Mekurumeku yuuki! present themselves with a fighting spirit. However, a different musical direction is taken, a fast, bright electronic melody providing the background for the track. The vocals of the five girls of STARMARIE add a refined touch to the melody, enhancing the song as a whole.

B-side Princess to Comedian then comes around, the intro sounding a little sinister due to the chiming of a bell and a creepy synthesizer background. Before long, bright and fast electronic music comes into play and changes the whole mood. Only shortly before the refrain does the striking of the bell return, adding tension and drama for a short moment. Subsequent to Princess to Comedian are the respective instrumental pieces. Idol band STARMARIE presents with Mekurumeku yuuki! a single that isn't so atmospheric like Circus wo koroshita no ha dare da was, but offers two carefree songs with dancing potential instead.
