Even capturing attention from US celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, 2NE1 have taken the world by storm. Their stunning group concept that wavers between sexy and unbelievably badass, their range in musical styles and the members' charisma all have helped 2NE1 gain immense popularity to even a global scale in the three years since their formation. In August, the girls will embark on their world tour that kicks off with two dates in the US and three dates in Japan. Additional dates have yet to be announced.
Written and produced by Teddy Park, I LOVE YOU is a strong but strangely gentle dance track, not as heavy as older single, I AM THE BEST. The new track borrows elements heard in modern K-pop as well as current American 40 hits: a strong bass beat, synthesizers and a simple melody with a bright chorus.
Released on July 5th, the new track has charted very well: I LOVE YOU received 300,000 downloads on the first day of its release. It hit second place on the Gaon Streaming Charts and first place on the Gaon Singles Charts. 2NE1 have been promoting the new single on SBS' Inkgayo!
