As a term, 'mind's "Jesus"' leaves a lot of room for different interpretations, but how is the music?
Wake Up Your Mind's "Jesus" was rock band Transtic Nerve's second major-single, and it undeniably both looks and sounds well constructed and professionally polished.
The single starts up with energetic an guitar contribution, guaranteeing a steady backbone for the song and presenting a striking guitar solo later in the song. The sound reminds of a few other groomed up major rock band successes (such as GLAY) and competes just as strongly in that demanding class. There isn't any doubt that producer/arranger Hajime Okano, (who has worked with Aikawa Nanase's and L'Arc-en-Ciel's songs) is a factor behind this shimmering outcome, although naturally you need to create the very base with a good band and a catchy song.
The second track, Maze, presents the delightful voice of singer Taka better than before by leaving some space for the now more toned down vocals. The execution of the song is still as rock styled as the earlier track, and therefore makes a fine addition on the single.
Additionally, the single features the instrumental version for the title track, which in this case manages to keep your attention even by itself. It's rather rare to find songs where vocals are honestly just another part in the music, creating a more elaborate complex.
Wake Up Your Mind's "Jesus" is guitar based melodic rock with a successfully matching vocalist, whose singing sounds positively smooth without losing the roughness you need for a respected rock style. A release deserves its commercial hit song status.
