Andy is a member of the boyband Shinhwa, where he is one of two rappers. In 2003 he began to take on various acting roles, and in 2007 he kicked off his solo music activities with the release of his first digital single, followed by his first album and concerts in early 2008. Although he only raps in Shinhwa, Andy both sings and raps for his solo releases, which tend to be upbeat pop songs and slower ballads. He has also starred as the male lead in two musicals.
