Coaltar of the Deepers (CotD) is an alternative rock band whose influences recline upon the shoegaze groups of the early '90s such as My Bloody Valentine, and the nu-metal sound of Metallica.
The most active member in the music business is probably Narasaki, who apart from Coaltar of the Deepers, also contributes to Astrobite, Tokusatsu, and together with Kyo from D'erlanger, Runaway Boys. He also has another project called Sadespere Records, which was founded in 1999 together with CotD supporter Watchman (ex. Melt-Banana). In between all of these projects, he also found enough time to create the original soundtrack for the anime Paradise Kiss.
Coaltar of the Deepers are also famous for their cover songs of Prince, The Cure, and My Bloody Valentine.
