ZORO started out as a colorful oshare kei band with upbeat and slightly bizarre music containing interesting synthesizers, heavy bass lines and energetic drumming. Their looks ranged from pure white through glittery gold to neon colors, and their album covers were filled with wild animals and stylistic patterns. However, in 2010, the band's guitarist and drummer announced their departure, leaving ZORO a duo.
As a duo, the band's looks became cooler and more subdued, although their music still featured a quirky, free-spirited mix of genres such as electro, punk, pop and rock, as well as frontman Ryuuji's one-of-a-kind voice. Bassist Tatsuhi was the main composer, and he brought an interesting visual contrast to the group with his stylish, androgynous costumes. Sadly, ZORO decided to go their separate ways in May 2015.
