Sachiko M is an internationally renowned musician, who has explored the use of sinusoidal waves for a number of years. Her musical work is entirely spontaneous, and relies on the studied elegance of the quality of the sounds, their texture, amplitude, movement, appearance and disappearance. Silence is also given equal importance in Sachiko’s work, and is treated in the same way that the different signals are handled. In this way her work could be likened to that of composer John Cage.
Sachiko M developed in the scene known as onkyo, electronic music which can also be similar to ‘noise music’ where players put forward the texture of the sounds more than their structure within their improvised work. Sachiko M also collaborates alongside many musicians from different genres, on pop, jazz and more experimental music.
