the HIATUS

the HIATUS is a band formed by vocalist and guitarist Takeshi Hosomi after ELLEGARDEN entered an indefinite hiatus in 2008. Contrary to what its name suggests, the HIATUS is a serious, artistic group that allows Hosomi to explore a more mature, experimental style of music. The band generally plays piano-heavy, emotional rock, but the members also draw influence from folk and punk, among other styles, adding a refreshing touch of variety to their sound.

Like in ELLEGARDEN, Hosomi’s lyrics are written mostly in English, well-pronounced and deep, although they still have occasional hints of his former band’s playfulness.
