Formed in Tokyo in March 2006, Tengusakura were part of the first wave of the "girls' metal" band boom. Heavily influenced by Onmyo-za, the quintet performed melodic heavy metal in stylized kimonos. Since the band went on indefinite hiatus in 2011, vocalist Yuri has gone on to front the likes of Albion and Rakshasa.
