Originally formed in 2012 as a side project of indigo la End frontman Enon Kawatani and members of bands he respected, Gesu no Kiwami Otome. has become one of the most prominent names in the Japanese rock scene. The band's 2016 album Ryouseibai was one of the top 50 best-selling albums of the year in Japan, and their videos have amassed millions of views on YouTube. Their sound mixes unique pop melodies together with rock, progressive and hip-hop elements, creating songs that offer a refreshing mix of the accessible and the unexpected.
The band’s future appeared to be in jeopardy in 2016 when scandals relating to Kawatani’s personal life resulted in both of his groups being put on hiatus, but they made a successful comeback in 2017 and have since fully resumed activities.
