Sakurai Atsushi, vocalist of renowned rock band
BUCK-TICK, has announced the start of a new solo project called
THE MORTAL.
In 2004,
Sakurai released his first solo album titled
Ai no Wakusei, which peaked at 15 on the Oricon Albums Chart. Now, he begins a new solo project after more than 10 years.
Sakurai will embark on his first ever tour as
THE MORTAL, titled
TOUR THE MORTAL 2015, in November and will play in Osaka and Tokyo.
The announcement of the new project brings with it a limited reissuing of
Ai no Wakusei, entitled
Ai no Wakusei -Collector's Box-, which will be released on September 30th. The box comes with four discs of
Sakurai's solo work for
Ai no Wakusei. Disc 1 is a 2015 remastered version of the original album with SMH-CD format. Disc 2 is
Ai no Wakusei～Single & Works with 2015 remastering and SMH-CD format. Disc 3 is
Ai no Wakusei - Live at NHK Hall 21st July, 2004. Disc 4 is a blu-ray disc featuring
-EXPLOSION- Ai no Wakusei Live 2004 and three music videos. It also comes with a photo booklet.
