Light In The Attic Records to Reissue Hiroshi Yoshimura's "GREEN"
Ambient pioneer Hiroshi Yoshimura's 1986 album "GREEN" will be reissued on vinyl, cassette and CD by Light In The Attic Records on June 26th.
American record label Light In The Attic Records have announced that they will be reissuing ambient pioneer Hiroshi Yoshimura's 1986 album GREEN. The album was reissued on all digital platforms on
March 20th, and it will be available in CD, LP, and cassette formats on June 26th.
This edition features the original mix preferred by Yoshimura himself (previously available only
on the initial Japanese vinyl release) and it’s the first release on the WATER COPY imprint, a collaboration with Yoshimura’s estate focusing on his works.
The album is available for pre-order now at the Light In The Attic online store, where a free download of the album will also be included with all online purchases. The “Transparent Green” colour vinyl edition will be available exclusively from
the LITA online store, and the "Clear" and “Clear/Green Swirl” colour options will be available exclusively from other physical and online retailers.
The “SFX Version” with added nature sounds, originally released only on CD on Sona Gaia Productions, will be available for streaming this summer as well.
Barely known outside of his home country during his lifetime, Hiroshi Yoshimura has developed a cult following overseas in recent years. The 2017 reissue of his debut Music For Nine Post Cards and his inclusion
on the Grammy-nominated Kankyō Ongaku: Japanese Ambient, Environmental & New Age Music 1980-1990 compilation have helped to ignite interest in his body of work, much of which has never been released outside of Japan. Known for his sound design and environmental music, Yoshimura also worked on a number of
commissions after the release of Music For Nine Post Cards, including works for museums, galleries, public spaces, TV shows, video art and fashion shows.
