ALICE IN MENSWEAR's KOJI to Undergo Cancer Treatment
ALICE IN MENSWEAR guitarist KOJI, formerly of La'cryma Christi, will pause activities while he undergoes treatment for esophageal cancer.
Visual kei musician KOJI, the guitarist of ALICE IN MENSWEAR, has announced he will pause his musical activities while he undergoes treatment for esophageal cancer.
KOJI has said he first experienced symptoms at the end of May, when he had difficulty swallowing. Tests later revealed a small tumour in his gullet. As it hasn't metastasised - that is, the cancer hasn't spread - KOJI is currently medicating to shrink the tumour before it is removed surgically. The chances of the cancer recurring after this procedure are reportedly very low.
KOJI's career began in the early '90s with visual rock band La'cryma Christi. He later formed rock trio ALvino in 2007. The steampunk-themed ALICE IN MENSWEAR, a joint venture with ex-MASCHERA vocalist michi., debuted in 2019 with the album Wonderland For The Lost Children.
JaME would like to wish KOJI a full and speedy recovery.
