ZIGZO will release their first original album in about seven years on June 20th, and rerecordings of 11 tracks from their past works are now available on digital platforms.
Rock band ZIGZO will release a new album on June 20th. This date has been dubbed "ZIGZO day", as when it is written out as "21620", it resembles the band's name.
Titled across the horizon, this album will be their first in about seven years and their fifth in total. It will contain 11 tracks, all of which feature lyrics written by frontman Tetsu Takano and music written by various members
of the band. All of the songs were written in 2021 during the coronavirus pandemic, so it is said to capture the band's current state.
The album features contributions from keyboardist Tooru Yoshida, who has supported the band on many occasions over the years. It was mixed by ZIGZO's bassist Den and drummer Sakura and mastered by MUCC guitarist
Miya.
The band will support the new release with the ZIGZO TOUR 2021 〜across the horizon〜, which will begin at Abeno ROCKTOWN in Osaka on June 19th and wrap up at OSAKA MUSE on September 12th.
In addition, ZIGZO are currently in the middle of a 12-month consecutive digital release campaign. Each month, they have been releasing a new rerecording of a song selected by the members from their past works. The latest release from this series, and
the 11th overall, was a rerecording of Shoudou, the lead track from their 2013 mini-album TRUE IMPULSE. Links to download and stream the rerecorded version on various digital platforms are available here.
Fans can check out the 10 other rerecordings here, and the final release from the series will be revealed on May 20th.
