New Album from METAFIVE
Electronic supergroup METAFIVE's first full-length album since 2016 drops on August 11th.
Electronic supergroup METAFIVE will release a new album on August 11th.
METAATEM is the sextet's second album, coming five years on from their 2016 full-length debut, META. It will be available on CD and vinyl. Both formats will contain twelve tracks, including the digital single Kankyo to shinri, whose release in July 2020 marked the group's unexpected comeback after a four-year hiatus.
The supergroup was formed in 2014 as Yukihiro Takahashi & METAFIVE, so named for their drummer who's best known as one-third of synthpop trio Yellow Magic Orchestra. His bandmates include Shibuya-kei pioneer Keigo "Cornelius" Oyamada; ex-Denki Groove producer Yoshinori Sunahara; ex-Deee-Lite DJ TOWA TEI; euphonist Tomohiko Gondo; and singer-songwriter LEO Imai.
On July 28th, Warner Music Japan announced the cancellation of this release.
