Voice actor Subaru Kimura and members of "music creator guild band" GESSHOKU KAIGI have formed a special unit called NINJAKAIGI.
This unit was created to record a promotional theme song for the film "Snake Eyes", an instalment in the "G.I. Joe" series that explains the origins of the titular character. Kimura provided the Japanese dub voice for Snake Eyes,
who is played in the film by Henry Golding.
The theme song is titled STEALTH DIVE, and it was released on digital platforms on September 22nd. Links to download and stream the song are available here.
GESSHOKU KAIGI composed and arranged the song, and they co-wrote the lyrics with Kimura, who is credited under his pen name Colabintaro.
This is far from their first time working together, as GESSHOKU KAIGI composed a number of songs for the "Hypnosis Mic" franchise, particularly the Ikebukuro division Buster Bros!!!. Kimura voices the eldest of the three
brothers,
Ichiro Yamada, and he wrote the lyrics for some of the songs GESSHOKU KAIGI penned for the group, including IKEBUKURO WEST GAME PARK and
his character's solo track Ore ga Ichiro.
GESSHOKU KAIGI consists of experienced musicians such as GEEKS frontman ENDO., TRUSTRICK guitarist Billy and MIMIZUQ drummer Kusunose Takuya. In addition to composing music and serving as a backing band
for artists such as the idol group Earphones, they also produce their own original tracks. A self-cover version of STEALTH DIVE will be included on a new album the group is releasing on October 20th titled GESSHOKU KAIGI 2019・2020 nendo gijiroku.
