Visual rock band
cali≠gari will release a new album on June 21st.
The aptly-titled
16 is the trio's sixteenth such release and comes as
cali≠gari mark their 30th anniversary. Both editions will contain eleven tracks, including seven new songs as well as a cover of electronic trio
SOFT BALLET's 1993 song Engaging Universe.
16 features drumming by
Hiroshi Sasabuchi, formerly of
Plastic Tree;
Yuji Nakanishi of
Hector; and
Wataru Kamiryo, who was a member of
SOFT BALLET's live band. Elsewhere, kabuki actor
Bando Hikosaburo makes a guest appearance on the opening track
Seppuku -life is beautiful-.
