It was recently announced that 16 year-old singer Yuyu will be performing the opening theme for the anime series “Mysterious Disappearances”.
Titled Hazard Symbol, the song was produced by the popular singer and Vocaloid producer Mafumafu. It marks Yuyu’s first time performing the opening theme song of a TV anime, and it’s said to combine the dark atmosphere
and catchiness that Mafumafu is known for with Yuyu’s singing voice.
The anime is based on a manga by Nujima (currently serialized in Shogakukan’s "Yawaraka Spirits" magazine), and it will premiere in Japan in April.
Hazard Symbol will get a digital release on April 11th, and it will also be released as a CD single on May 15th. The CD version will include the title track and a currently untitled B-side, as well as the instrumental versions of both songs. The
limited first edition of the single will also add a special booklet.
In addition, Yuyu will also be kicking off the “Yuyu 100 Video Project” on her official TikTok account. She is said to be planning to post a variety of songs, from original
compositions to covers of popular tunes, along with behind-the-scenes moments. The first post features Hazard Symbol.
Yuyu commented:
“Nice to meet you. I’m Yuyu, the vocalist for the opening theme song Hazard Symbol of 'Mysterious Disappearances'. I feel honored to sing for this enchanting story. Ever since the teaser PV was released, I’ve been filled
with excitement and can’t stop grinning.
I believe that we’ve created a suitably divine song for 'Mysterious Disappearances', so please look forward to it.
Sumireko-san.../// Sumireko-san.....!!?!!!”
Mafumafu commented:
“I wrote the song Hazard Symbol for Yuyu.
After reading the entire manga, I focused on expressing the mysterious and supernatural elements through music. Yuyu’s distinctive and expressive vocal style has taken the song to an even more thrilling level than I initially
envisioned.
Please enjoy it along with 'Mysterious Disappearances'."
