Rapper
T-STONE released a new EP today.
Titled
i, the EP is said to be based around the theme of "things rock music expresses". All three tracks featured on it blend together rock-style guitar phrases with hip-hop.
The title
is pronounced "ai" and written with the character for "indigo". It's said to combine a number of meanings, including "aisome", the indigo dye produced by his hometown of Tokushima, as well as "love", "I" and "eye", which are
all pronounced the same way.
Two tracks from the release,
Metro and
Shirasagi, feature contributions from fellow Tokushima rapper
G:nt in their lyrics. Longtime friends,
T-STONE and
G:nt have
worked together many times in the past. Both artists also competed
in the 2020 season of the hip-hop audition show "RAPSTAR Tanjou", and
T-STONE even made an appearance in
G:nt's
profile video when he reached the third stage of the audition.
