Singer Ado released her second original album, Zanmu, on July 10th.
The album includes a variety of songs, including Show, which she performed at her first appearance at Kouhaku Uta Gassen in Japan; Kura Kura, the opening theme song for season two of the anime series "SPY×FAMILY"; Himawari, the theme song
for the TBS TV drama series "18/40 -Futari nara Yume mo Koi mo-" and Chocolat Cadabra, her commercial song for Lotte Chocolate 60th anniversary, as well as several brand-new songs.
The album features contributions from a diverse line-up of songwriters, including singer-songwriters Sheena Ringo, natori and Vaundy, rock duo B'z and FAKE TYPE.'s TOPHAMHAT-KYO, as well as producers such
as TAKU INOUE, Giga, TeddyLoid, Teniwoha, PinocchioP and Camellia.
The cover art for this release was created by the artist ORIHARA, Ado’s image director. The Standard Edition cover art features a composition that seems to peek at the back of Ado, who is looking up at something through a large
window. The light illuminating Ado is said to express not only her myriad of emotions and dreams, but also "what she has witnessed from the past to the present, or perhaps, what she’s left behind in the traces of time."
The Limited Quantity Big Acrylic Stand & Blu-ray Edition, Limited Blu-ray Edition, and Limited DVD Edition also include footage of the full Los Angeles show from THE FIRST WORLD TOUR “Wish”.
Ado commented:
“Until now, I have released Kyougen, UTA’S SONGS ONE PIECE FILM RED and Ado’s Utattemita Album, so the fact that this new release is only the second original album, surprises me. I hope you enjoy the world of Ado that was powered up since
the release of my first original album.
"'Zanmu' is an existing word, meaning 'dreams that were never realized', or 'lingering dreams that remain in the heart even upon awakening.' I have always loved this word and thought it represented the dreams I have fulfilled in my life and the youth
that could not be fulfilled. 'Things from the past become glorified as they fade into the past, shining brightly, and this concept resonates with the bittersweet feelings within me as an individual working alone all this time. I hope that those bittersweet
feelings of mine will become enduring dreams, just as I hope that Ado’s presence, songs, music, Vocaloid, and Utaite will become something that all the listeners of the album hold onto in their hearts as enduring dreams, as 'Zanmu.' I named my album with
this sentiment in mind.”
