R&B superstar Rain was scheduled to start a series of concerts in the US, starting in Hawaii on the 15th of June. These concerts are now unfortunately being postphoned until further notice since Rain Corporation, a record company based in California, has requested that Rain does not use the name "Rain" during his concerts in the US. Rain Corporation has registered the name "Rain" as a trademark in America, and a classic rock band called Rain is also signed under them.
StarM, who are the organisers of Rain's current tour, have stated that they have tried to settle the matter in many ways, but no agreement has yet been reached. The court will annouce the results on the 14th, just one day before the concert in Hawaii. Since continuing the concert will have a negative impact on Rain's reputation, the Korean star has little choice but to postphone the US concerts until the matter is sorted.
In more positive news, Rain's role in the upcoming movie Speed Racer has been confirmed. He will play the part of TAE-ZO, a rookie racer. Filming has already begun for the movie, and it is hoped to be released in May of 2008.
